ABOUT
Born in the city of Vitória, Brazil, Marcel Dadalto is a musician, music producer and sound designer. He got started in music back in the early 90’s, playing guitar and writing songs for today's iconic brazilian hardcore band, Dead Fish.
After his graduation in Arts (BA Hons Arts with main subjects being Audiovisual and Computer Music), he started in 1997 along with friends the first DAW-based studio in his town, the local legendary Sala 11. Marcel has then spent the following years making sound experiments on recording field, installations, mixing and recording bands while discovering the yet new world of plugins, virtual instruments and the new editing techniques that has shapped the future of music production.
Along with the experimentation process it was only natural to start his own music project. Heavily influenced by all this environment of new sounds and possibilities, the band Zémaria was born in 1999. Marcel has since then recorded, produced and released the band's 4 albums, that brought him to play concerts around Brazil, Argentina, USA and Europe.
In june, 2014, one of Zémaria’s song - Past 2 - reached the TOP 100 Pop Chart on J-Wave Radio, Tokyo, Japan. The same song was featured as official soundtrack for EA Games FIFA 13.
Based in Berlin since 2013, Marcel is currently working as a freelance music producer, making records for other artists and soundtracks for TV and short films.
